Together with Vonette Bright (founder of the National Day of Prayer & widow of the late Dr. Bill Bright) Nancy founded the American Prayer Initiative, a strategic prayer campaign focusing on principles from America’s founding documents and other topics. http://AmericanPrayerInitiative.org

In 2001, Nancy was prompted by “God’s hand of pressure in the small of my back” and a repetitive Scripture (“If I find 10 faithful ones, I will save the city”) to organize a prayer effort for Washington and the country. Nancy and several notable Washington women of faith prayed in the White House offices for 8 years, and continue to fervently pray in the Spirit of II Chronicles 7:14. Answers have and are coming.

In 2008, Nancy founded the Congressional Wives Speakers whose purpose is to speak truth about Washington and America, and to influence “we the people” to take a stand for their country. For 3 years Nancy has been a part of a “Faith & Works” team touring Florida to speak to pastors about taking a stand for the country from the pulpit.

Nancy’s first husband, the late Jim Waltermire, was Montana’s Secretary of State and frontrunner for Governor at the time of his death in a plane crash. She later married 9-term Congressman, Dick Schulze, once Chairman of the National Prayer Breakfast.
